Iron Maiden
Over the past 36 years, English heavy metal icons Iron Maiden have revolutionized the world of heavy metal. The band was at the forefront of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the 80s, and their tour dates complete with special effects and props have set the bar for live performances. Iron Maiden recently won their first Grammy for the song "El Dorado" off of their latest album, The Final Frontier. It's this album that has prompted the band to embark on 2011 tour dates around the world on The Final Frontier World Tour.
While Iron Maiden was formed in 1975 and experienced minor success with their first two albums, it wasn't until the hiring of Bruce Dickinson as lead singer and the release of Number of the Beast in 1982 that the group began to experience international acclaim. The album topped the charts in the UK and was well received by critics, despite the outcry from conservative groups in the US that labeled the band as "satanic." Powerslave experienced similar success in 1984 and led to tour dates on the World Slavery Tour, which remains one of the largest tours in music history.
Iron Maiden continued to release hit albums and perform acclaimed tours around the world, up through the 2010 release of The Final Frontier. It has sparked 2011 tour dates on a hugely popular world tour, which only has a hand full of performances left. The remaining dates on the concert schedule are focused in the UK and will end on August 6. Fans who have missed these tour dates can take comfort in the fact that Iron Maiden has no plans of quitting and will produce more hit albums and concerts soon.
Coheed and Cambria
American progressive rock band, Coheed and Cambria, has taken the musical narrative to a whole other level. Besides their hugely popular tour dates, the band's albums tell a continuous story of a couple (Coheed and Cambria) who live in a futuristic society that is threatened by a seemingly unstoppable virus, and soon find themselves the only ones that can stop it. In the process, Coheed and Cambria has become rock stars, and their albums have arguably become better known for its hit music more than its story line. After recently finishing up 2011 tour dates on their 10th Anniversary tour, Coheed and Cambria have only a few shows remaining this year.
Initially called Shabütie, while the band was on tour in Paris they decided to adopt the names of characters in lead singer and guitarist Claudio Sanchez's short stories, and to base their lyrics and albums around them. The result was The Second Stage Turbine Blade which is actually the second volume in Sanchez's epic known as The Armory Wars. The album was well received by audiences and led to numerous supporting tour dates over the next year. Coheed and Cambria's follow-up album, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 was an even bigger success, receiving praise from music critics and catching the attention of major labels.
Coheed and Cambria's latest album, Year of the Black Rainbow is the prequel/1st installment in the Armory Wars saga. Critics have called the album possibly their best yet, and have noted that the music appeals to those who are interested in the story line or not. Coheed has a few 2011 tour dates in South America in September, including a performance at Rock in Rio. With so few remaining shows this year, fans in South America should leap at the chance to catch these tour dates in 2011.

ICAL (short for iCalendar) is a standard calendar format that allows you to transfer events from one calendar to another via an .ics file format. CSV
CSV (short for "comma-separated values") is a simple data format that many programs, such as Microsoft Excel, use for importing and exporting data.
You can import a list of events into Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo! Calendar, and other tools by using this CSV file.
RSS
RSS is a regularly updated summary of events that can be viewed through an RSS reader, along with links to full versions of events. When you subscribe to an RSS feed of events, you'll receive a summary of new events through your RSS reader. When you click on an RSS button, your browser may display a page of web code; if this happens, review your reader's documentation on how to subscribe to an RSS feed.
RSS readers are as numerous as the stars on a clear night during a concert at the park. To find a reader, try Google or ask your friends what they use.
